1.研究概要
本領域の目的は、情報ネットワーク・情報処理技術に立脚し、実務・研究の双方の側面から医学研究支援と医療の質の向上に資することである。そのため研究科ネットワーク・各種サーバー管理、並びにネットワークを用いた医学研究支援などの実務に加え、医療情報分野の知識基盤と基礎的技術に関する研究、さらにそれらの診療現場への応用技術の研究を行っている。
例えば、昨今医療におけるIT化の推進によって電子的に蓄積される診療情報が増加し、その利用が活発化してきている。 これには数値や画像の検査データだけでなく、自由入力で行われる診断報告書やカルテ記載でのテキストデータも含まれているが、現在これらを統合し、計算機を用いた高度な意味的検索や統計処理による相関ルールの導出、特定の特徴を持つ患者集団の抽出、診療情報の自動コーディング、診断支援といった知的処理を行う需要が高まっている。しかしこのためには、用語・概念の整理と標準化、医学用語概念の定義を計算機処理可能な形式で記述したデータベース(オントロジー)、自然言語処理、機械学習、知識推論、といった医療情報分野の知識基盤と基礎的技術が必須である。 本領域ではこれらのリソース・基盤要素技術の開発、ならびに診療現場への応用の研究を行っている。
